2000 to Now

 

The new millennium marked the beginning of more collaborations for Faye Carol.  She's teamed up with artists for various recording projects and live shows such as Marcus Shelby, Howard Wiley, Kev Choice, Martin Luther, Mal Sharpe, Sista Kee, John Santos, and David Murray.  Faye Carol had the honor of performing as the voice of Harriet Tubman in Maryland at the Harriet Tubman Museum & Educational Center and was a featured artist in the play Black Nativity. She was featured in the Oakland Museum of California exhibit "Oakland, I Want You To Know" and was a featured collaborator in the documentary film Evolutionary Blues.  Recent years have found her spearheading long-form projects including Blues, Baroque, and Bars (commissioned by a prestigious Hewlett 50 Award), the multi-disciplinary work Remembering 1619, Black Music: Blues & Bars, and Celebrating Black LGBTQ+ Musical Pioneers. She has recently collaborated with Robert Randolph, Bernard Purdie, Lenny White, Dennis Chambers, Steve Turre, Casey Benjamin, Roy McCurdy, Buster Williams, RyanNicole, Tarus Mateen, Azar Lawrence, Mistah F.A.B., Oakland Symphony, Nat Reeves, Gary Bartz, and Oakland School for the Arts' Vocal Rush.

 

The Faye Carol School Of The Getdown has become known as a Bay Area community treasure.  And Miss Faye continues as an international recording artist, adding to her own catalogue & contributing to numerous colleagues' projects.  

Known for her outwardly loving embrace and support of all, Faye Carol remains a conduit for bringing together many communities through music.  This trailblazer continues to create unique, authentic music, and rock the mic with an energy that is divine.
