This program is offered at no cost. A nonrefundable application fee is required to ensure limited slots are available to serious participants. Application fee is $100 before June 15, and $200 after June 15.

School of The Getdown Youth Arts Camp is offered at no cost for youth participants ages 10-16 of all skill levels. Our goal is to instill and cultivate a love of the arts in each student, with a well-rounded, multidisciplinary curriculum. We aim to foster a community based on mutual respect and encouragement so all students can discover and explore their creativity and expression. Each student will embark on a journey of discovery of the arts, engaging in classes in vocals, rap, percussion, visual art, gospel choir, and dance. Our powerful faculty roster of renowned educators, artists, and performers will guide students of all levels through a life-changing learning experience in a supportive, fun environment, covering diverse cultural traditions and forms of expression.
Classes
All students will partake in all classes in this multidisciplinary program
Vocals - Faye Carol
Discover the joy of singing and explore your voice through harmony, repertoire, and improv.
Rap - Professor Kee
Have fun exploring your voice, writing & performing your own bars, & learning about the history of hip-hop.
Gospel Choir - David Jackson
Explore the rich tradition of gospel music and discover the power and expression of gospel in a choral setting.
Percussion - Juan Escovedo
Learn cultural rhythmic traditions of Latin America through a diverse array of instruments, grooves, & sounds.
Visual Art - Virginia Jourdan
Learn the fundamentals of visual art while expressing your creativity through diverse mediums including painting, drawing, and more.
Dance - Sister Linda
Get in the groove with moves, grooves, and choreography from Africa to America and around the world.
