1970s

A favorite of the San Francisco cabaret music scene, Faye Carol made musical history by being the 1st to augment the traditional vocal & piano sound to include the upright bass & drums.  She was also one of the 1st African American artists in the genre and was recognized by being awarded with The Cabaret Gold Award numerous times.  Miss Carol developed an extensive cabaret repertoire while simultaneously engaging listeners with songs from her gospel, r&b, soul, blues, and jazz roots.  Her all inclusive approach touched the hearts of many and earned her a reputation for outstanding arrangements and flawless execution of whatever she chose to sing.
