1960s

Faye Carol's professional career began touring nationally with the gospel music group The Angelaires.  It was on tour & in church that she honed her skills in traditional gospel, singing the styles made famous by such artists as Clara Ward, The Davis Sisters, The Caravans, Mahalia Jackson, and Aretha Franklin.

With an equal love for the pop music of the era, it was a natural transition for Miss Faye to add to her repertoire music by artists such as Wilson Pickett, Gladys Knight,  Ray Charles, James Brown, and Sam Cooke.  She quickly became a favorite of the bay area soul music scene, singing with groups such as Johnny Talbot & Johnny Hartsman.  She recorded her 1st single called Good Man & sang on the Marvin Gaye West Coast Tour.
